If a patient develops conjunctivitis after wearing contact lenses, the first step is to advise the patient to stop wearing contact lenses immediately, and then go to an eye clinic for an examination and, depending on the patient’s condition, use topical eye drops to treat the symptoms. Contact lenses are in direct contact with our conjunctiva and cornea, so if they are worn in an improper or unhygienic manner, they can lead to eye infections, most commonly conjunctivitis or even keratitis, which can cause the patient’s conjunctiva to become congested, and if keratitis occurs, it can lead to vision loss. Therefore, when a patient has conjunctivitis after wearing contact lenses, he or she must go to an eye clinic for examination, stop wearing contact lenses, and use topical medications to treat the patient’s condition according to his or her condition in order to avoid further aggravation of the patient’s condition.
