Heel pain after running may be related to improper shoes and running posture, plantar fasciitis, osteoarthritis, Achilles tendon strain and other factors. 1. Inappropriate shoes and running posture: Poor shock absorption of shoes and uneven surface of running venues may directly stimulate the heel, leading to pain. Poor running posture, heel landing, not the whole foot landing, will increase the heel force, causing local damage, resulting in heel pain. 2. Plantar fasciitis: plantar fasciitis is mainly caused by chronic strain of the foot due to long-term exertion, strenuous exercise, trauma and other conditions, and the patients continue their activities without recovery of the foot, which triggers aseptic inflammation. The lesion is stimulated during running, thus causing heel pain. 3. Osteoarthritis: Osteoarthritis causes degeneration of articular cartilage and osteophytes. The bone spurs caused by osteoarthritis will stimulate the surrounding soft tissues during running and cause heel pain. In addition, Achilles tendon strain and other factors can lead to heel pain after running. It is recommended that patients with such symptoms go to the hospital in time to find out the cause and follow up with targeted treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
