The time to issue the results of a DR chest radiograph varies depending on the situation. For outpatients during regular office hours, the results are usually issued within 2 hours of the test being taken. For inpatients, the results are issued within 24 hours of the test being taken. In the case of emergency or special patients, results are required within 30 minutes of the time of the test. If special circumstances arise, such as a patient found to be in critical condition in an outpatient clinic, the results will also be issued within 30 minutes and the results will be fed back to the clinician in the first instance for timely treatment.
