What are the risks of minoxidil to the kidneys?

Minoxidil is generally not harmful to the kidneys, and this product is used to treat high blood pressure and should be used as prescribed by a doctor.
Minoxidil is commonly available in tablets and other dosage forms. The instructions state that the adverse reactions of this product include arrhythmia, increased heart rate, skin flushing, sodium retention leading to lower limb edema, weight gain, hair growth, angina pectoris, chest pain (pericarditis), headache, allergic reactions, rash, itching, and so on. No damage to the kidneys has been seen.
Minoxidil is used as a second- or third-line drug for the treatment of hypertension.
It is contraindicated in cerebrovascular disease, heart failure not caused by hypertension, angina pectoris, coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, pheochromocytoma, pericardial effusion, renal dysfunction. It should be used reasonably under the guidance of a doctor.
