Fluvastatin is used to treat hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia, and its side effects may include nausea, vomiting, insomnia, and headache. Fluvastatin is a fully chemically synthesized cholesterol-lowering drug that inhibits endogenous cholesterol synthesis and lowers total plasma cholesterol concentrations. It can be used to treat primary hypercholesterolemia in patients with poor dietary control as well as primary hypercholesterolemia. After administration, common adverse reactions include gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and dyspepsia, as well as insomnia and headache. Occasionally, allergic reactions such as rash and urticaria are seen, as well as symptoms such as hyperalgesia and myalgia. The drug is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the drug, patients with active liver disease, pregnant women, lactating women, and patients with severe renal insufficiency. Patients are advised to use the drug in a standardized manner under the guidance of a doctor and not to use it blindly on their own.
