Laryngeal cancer is divided into supraglottic, infraglottic, subglottic and transglottic cancers, with the vocal cords as the boundary. The symptoms of laryngeal cancer in different parts are slightly different, but the main symptoms are hoarseness, difficulty in breathing, cough, difficulty in swallowing and cervical lymph node metastasis, etc. 1.Supraglottic carcinoma: Supraglottic carcinoma is poorly differentiated and develops quickly, but patients do not feel any symptoms in the early stage, and they are alerted only when cervical lymph node metastasis appears. When the lesion develops to a certain extent, sometimes only mild symptoms such as itchy throat, foreign body sensation in the throat, swallowing discomfort, etc. may appear; when the tumor continues to develop and forms deeper ulcers, sore throat may appear; when it invades the vocal tissues or nerves, it may cause hoarseness; in the advanced stage, breathing difficulty or difficulty in swallowing, coughing, blood in sputum or coughing up blood, etc. may appear. 2.Vocal hilar cancer: Because the cancer foci are in the vocal hilum, early voice changes may occur, starting from easy vocal fatigue or hoarseness, with the increase of tumor, hoarseness will gradually increase, which may lead to coarse and mute voice or even loss of voice. With the increase of tumor, it may cause difficulty in breathing; in late stage, it may show symptoms such as radioactive ear pain, difficulty in breathing, difficulty in swallowing, frequent coughing, difficulty in coughing up sputum and bad breath. When the tumor develops to a considerable extent, it may cause irritating cough and coughing blood, etc.; when the disease continues to develop, it may cause dyspnea and hoarseness, etc. 4.Transvocal cancer: early stage is also not easy to be detected, and hoarseness can be the first symptom, but the disease has already developed to a certain degree by then. As mentioned above, the symptoms of laryngeal cancer mainly include hoarseness, dyspnea, cough, dysphagia and cervical lymph node metastasis, and some patients may experience foreign body sensation in the throat, bad breath and small amount of coughing blood.
