Will a pubic lice infection heal on its own?

After being infected with pubic lice, it is usually not self-curable; if not intervened in time, complications such as folliculitis may occur and may be transmitted to family members.
Pubic lice are parasites that are highly contagious and live mainly in the pubic hair area. After infection with pubic lice, pubic lice disease can develop and cause significant itching, red rashes and bruises on the affected area. The itching and tingling can be especially noticeable at night. The condition is essentially incapable of curing itself.
If the condition is allowed to progress, pubic lice may multiply and spread and invade the body. Complications such as folliculitis and perineal abscesses can occur as a result of repeated scratching. Complications such as blepharitis and conjunctivitis may also occur if the eyelashes and eyebrows are infected. The disease is highly contagious and may be passed on to family members if timely intervention is not made.
If you suspect that you have pubic lice, you should immediately take proper isolation measures and visit the hospital in time.
