Babies with fever and bloodshot eyes may be related to ocular capillary dilatation, conjunctivitis, Kawasaki disease and other factors, and patients can be treated with medication, general treatment and other ways of treatment to alleviate ocular discomfort.
1. Ocular capillary dilatation: If a child has a fever, it can stimulate ocular capillary dilatation, leading to conjunctival congestion, and the child may have symptoms such as increased redness in the eyes. The child needs to be treated with medication such as ibuprofen suspension as prescribed by the doctor. Children can also drink warm water, rubbing alcohol on the body and other physical ways to reduce fever.
2. Conjunctivitis: If the baby’s fever is accompanied by conjunctival inflammation, under the stimulation of inflammation, the child can appear conjunctival congestion, photophobia, tearing and other symptoms of discomfort, the child can follow the doctor’s instructions to use tobramycin eye drops and other medication to relieve eye discomfort.
3. Kawasaki disease: when the baby suffers from Kawasaki disease, there will be fever, bilateral conjunctival congestion and other symptoms, the child can follow the doctor’s instructions to use immunoglobulin, aspirin and other medications to control the discomfort.
It is recommended that children with fever and eye congestion should be seen promptly for evaluation of their condition and treatment as prescribed by the doctor.
