How to train hand function in children with cerebral palsy

Children with cerebral palsy have limb motor dysfunction and poor upper limb mobility. Due to the combination of mental retardation, the child lacks good hand-eye coordination and therefore has poor fine hand movements. It is recommended to train the hand function of children with cerebral palsy mainly through some manual work activities. How to train the hands of children with cerebral palsy: 1. Train the child to use the hands symmetrically: let the child practice playing the xylophone, piano, kneading dough, play dough, clapping hands, etc. 2. 2.Training the grasping and releasing action of the hand: Put a small toy into the palm of the child’s hand and press it a little, the child’s hand will grasp the toy more easily, put the toy in a suitable position under the child’s hand and encourage the child to get it. Let the child drop the beads and play the piano to practice the opening of the hand. Have the child grab some small objects (small balls, cubes, beans, etc.) and place them in a container. Let the child put the circles on the shelf, which is the training of continuous action of grasping and placing. 3.Fine hand movement training: such as building blocks, putting together boards, inserting sticks, pins, coloring, tracing, etc.
