What’s wrong with the black, slushy stools that don’t form?

Unformed stools in the form of black sludge, i.e. black unformed stools, may be related to food intake, taking iron-containing medicines or gastrointestinal bleeding.
1. Food intake: Consumption of blood products, animal offal, etc., because of the high iron content, so it is easy to cause the stool to be black and unshaped.
2. Pharmaceutical effects: taking iron or bismuth-containing medicines may lead to black unformed stools, which is a normal phenomenon.
3. Gastrointestinal bleeding: common diseases that cause gastrointestinal bleeding include gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastric cancer and so on. Gastrointestinal bleeding, especially upper gastrointestinal bleeding, due to the metabolic oxidation of iron ions in hemoglobin through the intestinal tract will lead to black stools. It may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting and other symptoms, and requires special attention.
There may also be other reasons for unformed stools in the form of black sludge, so it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, complete the examination to determine the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment under the guidance of the doctor or treatment.
