What’s with the indentation in the calf when pressed?

If there is a depression when pressing on the calf, consider that it may be due to a specific medication that the patient is taking that is causing the edema in the lower extremities. For example, the patient is currently taking calcium channel blockers such as felodipine and amlodipine. Other patients may be taking glucocorticoids, which may have led to this abnormal presentation. Those with the presence of heart failure, nephrotic syndrome, hypoalbuminemia, and hypothyroidism are at risk for similar abnormalities. It is recommended that the patient can combine the examination of liver and kidney function as well as perform ultrasound of the urinary tract, BNP and heart to further clarify the diagnosis. For lower limb edema caused by heart failure, it is recommended that patients can be given diuretic treatment, such as furosemide can be pushed. For mild edema, oral hydrochlorothiazide tablets and spironolactone can be taken.
