Preparatory Meeting of Accelerated Rehabilitation Surgery Group of Chinese Medical Association

On August 9, the preparatory meeting of the Accelerated Rehabilitation Surgery Group of the Chinese Society of Parenteral Enteral Nutrition Branch was successfully held in Shanghai! The successful convening of this meeting officially sounded the call for the development of accelerated rehabilitation surgery in China and filled the gap in the field of accelerated rehabilitation surgery in China in academic circles. The preparation of the relevant expert consensus will provide clinicians with a clearer standardized process and evidence-based medical evidence. It laid a solid foundation for the formal establishment of the Accelerated Rehabilitation Surgery Group and the release of the expert consensus! The meeting was chaired by Prof. Li Ning from Nanjing Military General Hospital and attended by President Kong Tai of Tide Pharmaceuticals. The participating experts covered the top authoritative experts in the field of surgery and anesthesia in China. They are Prof. Jiang Zhiwei, Prof. Wang Gang and Prof. Li Weiyan from Nanjing Military General Hospital; Prof. Cai Sanjun from Fudan University Hospital; Prof. Qin Xinyu and Prof. Ding Ming from Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University; Prof. Yu Jianchun, Prof. Kang Weiming and Prof. Zhang Xihua from Peking Union Medical College Hospital; Prof. Zhang Hong, Prof. Liu Jing and Prof. Chen Rin from General Hospital of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army; Prof. He Miao from Peking University People’s Hospital; Prof. Zhixiang Jian from Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital; Prof. Yulong He from the First Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University; and Prof. Qingchuan Zhao from Xijing Hospital. The conference started with an opening speech by Prof. Li Ning, the chairman of the conference. Prof. Li Ning introduced the current development of the field of accelerated rehabilitation surgery in China. He explained the purpose and future goals of the Accelerated Rehabilitation Surgery Group and advocated that experts from various departments in related fields should unite and work together to make China’s accelerated rehabilitation surgery catch up with the world’s advanced level as soon as possible. After that, Mr. Kong Tai, the president of Beijing TED Pharmaceuticals, delivered a speech. Mr. Kong Tai introduced the development history of Tide Pharmaceuticals. He expressed his gratitude for the strong support from experts in the field of surgery and anesthesia, and expressed his good vision for future close cooperation in accelerated rehabilitation surgery and its related fields. He also expressed that the company will shoulder the sense of social responsibility, uphold the company culture, and contribute more to the development of surgical medicine. Next, Prof. Li Ning advocated the experts present to draft and complete the application report for the establishment of the group. The establishment of the group will be carried out in an orderly manner according to the relevant workflow. Finally, all the participating experts discussed the first draft of the Expert Consensus on Accelerated Colorectal Rehabilitation Surgery. Experts and professors from different regions and different departments in China elaborated their views and emphasized the important role of accelerated rehabilitation surgery for perioperative colorectal surgery. The discussion among experts was very lively, and the academic content and guideline writing were repeatedly refined and evidence-based. The Expert Consensus on Accelerated Rehabilitation Colorectal Surgery will continue to be refined and finally published in the subsequent work.
