The cause of memory loss in middle-aged and elderly patients should be identified and then treated symptomatically. If a patient has memory loss, forgets something, and can recall it through reminding others or by himself after some time, consider it amnesia. This happens mostly because of the patient’s poor lifestyle or because of lack of sleep. Patients should get enough sleep and participate in brain-boosting activities, such as playing Go and chess, to improve their symptoms. If the patient’s memory loss is obvious, he should consult a hospital, which may be an early symptom of Alzheimer’s disease, and he should improve the head MRI, head CT and do the evaluation of intelligence scale. If the patient is considered to be in the early stage of Alzheimer’s disease, the patient should be given timely drug interventions to slow down the disease progression, and given oral donepezil hydrochloride and staphylococcus aureus to improve memory and cognitive function.
