Sudden shaking during sleep is mostly a physiological phenomenon, which is caused by immature development of the nervous system. It may also be caused by calcium deficiency, restless leg syndrome, seizures, etc.
1. Calcium deficiency: When there is a calcium deficiency, it is easy to cause musculoskeletal contractions and spasms at night, thus causing shaking.
2. Restless legs syndrome: It is a sensory-motor disorder of the nervous system. It tends to crave limb movement and may be accompanied by limb shaking while sleeping.
3. Epileptic seizures: the phenomenon of body shaking occurs due to abnormal discharges in the patient’s brain nerves.
