Will Hearing Aids Restore Hearing?

Wearing a hearing aid does not restore hearing, it only helps patients improve their hearing. Hearing aids are essentially sound amplification devices. Patients who need to wear hearing aids are often moderately or severely deaf, and hearing aids can help amplify useful sounds in the external environment for the human hearing organs to perceive. Hearing aids can facilitate appropriate social communication and help deaf patients perceive sound information in the surrounding environment. However, once the patient is detached from the hearing aid, the condition of deafness still persists, and the patient’s own hearing condition is not effectively restored, and often persists.
