In coastal or eastern areas, the cost of this type of surgery is likely to be around RMB 20,000-30,000. The cost of hospitalization may also be higher or longer depending on whether there are any complications after the surgery and whether the patient has an incision infection or other cardiopulmonary complications. For example, if a patient develops biliary pancreatitis after surgery, the cost of hospitalization may increase by about$5,000 to$10,000. If there is a complication of choledocholithiasis or bile duct stenosis that is treated with ERCP, the patient’s surgical or hospitalization cost will be about$10,000-$20,000 higher.
