Bone cysts are not usually treated with medication, and are often treated with intracapsular injections of hormonal drugs and surgery.
Bone cysts are a kind of common myeloma-like lesions. After diagnosis, doctors often choose the treatment method according to the patient’s condition, including conservative treatment and surgery.
1. Conservative treatment: after puncturing and extracting the fluid from the cyst, hormonal drugs such as methylprednisolone are injected into the cavity of the cyst. This method is less invasive and can gradually reduce the cystic fluid and heal the cyst. Patients with pathologic fractures can be treated conservatively with traction and external fixation.
2. Surgical treatment: the main method is to scrape the lesion, and the defect can be filled with autologous or allograft bone endoprosthesis during the operation.
