How long can you live with advanced edema of lung cancer?

Oedema in advanced stage of lung cancer indicates that the disease has reached the end stage. Oedema may be caused by low protein and compression of lung cancer tissue, and the survival period is roughly 3-5 months. Lung cancer is a kind of wasting disease. Patients with terminal lung cancer usually eat poorly and consume a lot of nutrients with very little intake, which can easily cause hypoproteinemia, and once hypoproteinemia occurs, peripheral edema will appear, and patients will soon die of multi-organ failure. If the lymphatic flow is blocked due to the compression of large blood vessels, edema will also be caused and the body function will deteriorate further, resulting in clinical death. During this period, if the lung cancer tissues compress the airway, asphyxia will occur, and if the lung cancer tissues invade the large blood vessels, hemoptysis will occur, and the patient will die at any time.
