Patients with a confirmed diagnosis of novel coronavirus are discharged from the hospital in about 2 weeks to a month, depending on the extent of the viral infection. Patients with confirmed novel coronavirus who are infected with a small number of pathogens, are in good health and have a low level of infection will usually only have mild symptoms such as fever, cough, and malaise, and can usually be discharged from the hospital in about 2 weeks. For certain deep infection, especially for some elderly people with weakened autoimmunity, symptoms such as acute respiratory distress syndrome and shock may occur, and the time of discharge may reach about 1 month. Self-isolation should also be done after discharge from the hospital because some of the new coronavirus may still be present in the patient’s body, and there is a certain possibility that the virus may return to the positive side. If the patient becomes unwell after discharge, he/she should consult a doctor immediately to prevent recurrence of the disease.
