Laparoscopic treatment of vesicovaginal fistula

What diseases can be treated with laparoscopy? This question is getting more and more answers and at present it is safe to say that basically laparoscopy can replicate all open surgeries except some superficial ones such as urethral surgery and scrotal surgery. Recently we successfully treated an elderly female patient with vesicovaginal fistula using laparoscopic technique with a more satisfactory outcome.   Female, 54 years old, complained of vaginal flow of urine for 15 years. There was a history of previous cesarean section 15 years ago and a history of bladder repair. She was seen for examination and was clearly diagnosed with vesicovaginal fistula. After communication with the patient and family, a vesico-vaginal fistula repair by the transabdominal route was performed, in which the vaginal fistula was excised and repaired, and the vesicovaginal fistula was repaired, with a large omental filling in between for isolation, and a catheter was left in place for 2 weeks, and after removal of the catheter, the patient did not see any vaginal fluid flow, and was under follow-up. Chen Fangmin, Department of Urology, Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University This shows that vesico-vaginal fistula can be accomplished by laparoscopic surgery.   Welcome to the clinic!
