Is a heart murmur life-threatening?

If the heart murmur is physiological, it is not life-threatening, if the heart murmur is pathological, it may be life-threatening, but after early detection and standardized treatment, most of them are not life-threatening.
1. Physiological murmur: it may be caused by strenuous exercise, irregular work and rest, etc. Physiological murmur appears in the systole of the heart, the sound is softer, and there is no organic lesion of the heart, so it is generally not life-threatening.
2. Pathological murmur: it is mostly caused by organic lesions of the heart, such as mitral stenosis, aortic valve insufficiency, ventricular septal defect and so on. If the patient is not actively treated, the condition will gradually aggravate, leading to heart failure and even life-threatening consequences.
Patients with heart murmurs are advised to go to a regular hospital in time to improve the relevant examinations, identify the specific causes, and carry out standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor to avoid delaying the condition.
