Is a colposcopy the same as a routine leukorrhea

Colposcopy is not the same as routine leukorrhea. Colposcopy is used to detect suspected cervicovaginal lesions or to review cervical lesions after treatment by magnifying the vagina and cervix and looking at the vascular pattern and epithelial structure of these areas to detect the lesions. Colposcopy has no adverse effects, but some people may experience some irritation during the procedure. After the examination, rest should be taken care of and strenuous exercise should be avoided. Routine leukorrhea examination is a common gynecological examination, which refers to taking vaginal secretions for smear staining and fixation, and then searching for pathogenic bacteria under the microscope, which is capable of checking the pH, microorganisms and cleanliness of the vagina. It is not harmful to the examinee and does not cause pain or other symptoms. Before the test, it is better not to wash the vagina, so as not to reduce the leukorrhea in the vagina to affect the test results. Both colposcopy and routine leukorrhea test can assist the doctor to judge the patient’s condition, and the patient should ask the doctor’s opinion and conduct the relevant examination under the doctor’s guidance. Patients should not make their own judgment or diagnosis based on the test results, but should consult their doctors in time to take the right treatment after the test report is abnormal.
