Chin Reshaping Surgery

The three chambers and five eyes are important indicators of facial beauty. The chin is an important part of the lower 1/3 of the face in the three chambers, and a beautiful chin is the cornerstone of the delicate shape of the face. If the chin is small or receding, then the lower 1/3 of the entire face will appear sunken and the middle 1/3 of the face will appear prominent. Only when the chin and other organs of the face are in harmony with each other can one have a proper and delicate facial contour. Chin surgery can be broadly divided into two types, namely chinplasty and chin filler surgery. Chinplasty is a more complex operation that requires general anesthesia to change the shape of the chin by cutting into the chin bone, then modifying, adjusting, shaping and refixing it. Depending on the material used, chin augmentation can be divided into autologous bone chin augmentation, prosthetic chin augmentation and injectable chin augmentation. Autologous bone chin augmentation is often performed at the same time as jaw angle surgery, where the intercepted jaw angle bone is appropriately trimmed and transplanted to the chin. Chin augmentation with artificial implants, such as silicone, expanded PTFE and Medpor, can be performed under local anesthesia. Chin augmentation by injection is suitable for short, receding, locally depressed or asymmetrical jaws that are not very severe. Liquid filling material such as hyaluronic acid is injected into the defective area of the chin by means of injection. Chin augmentation by injection does not require surgery, does not cause pain, and is a simple procedure with obvious results. No recovery period is required after the chin augmentation injection, and it will not affect normal work and life. Compared to chin augmentation with prosthesis, chin augmentation by injection has a more natural effect and more realistic facial lines.
