Sore throat may be related to acute pharyngitis, acute tonsillitis and acute epiglottitis, etc. According to the cause of the disease and the characteristics of the disease, we need to choose the general treatment, medication and surgical treatment to solve the problem.
1. Acute pharyngitis: it can be caused by viral and bacterial infections as well as stimulation by adverse physical and chemical factors, and the symptom of sore throat often occurs. Apply ribavirin and other antiviral drugs for antiviral treatment; use amoxicillin and other antibiotics for antibacterial treatment. Compound borax solution can be used for gargling; iodized throat tablets and other tablets can be taken; 1% to 3% iodized glycerin can be used to smear the back wall of the pharynx; and proprietary Chinese medicines such as Liushen Pills can be taken orally.

Penicillins are preferred for anti-infective treatment, and the route of administration (intravenous or intramuscular) is decided according to the severity of the disease. It is usually used for 5 to 7 days. If the condition does not improve after 2 to 3 days of treatment, the cause must be analyzed and other types of antibiotics must be used. Hormones may be used as appropriate.
The symptoms can be improved by using the above gargles and cleaning the mouth and taking tablets. When the sore throat is severe, oral analgesics such as ibuprofen can be used.

Intravenous use of penicillin, vancomycin and other sensitive antibiotics anti-infection treatment, and dexamethasone and other glucocorticoids to reduce swelling, anti-inflammatory treatment. When an epiglottis abscess is formed, the abscess should be cut and drained. In case of respiratory distress, tracheotomy should be performed as early as possible.
