What does a urine test pH 6.5 mean?

A urine pH of 6.5 is a normal range of 6.5 during routine urine tests. The pH of urine fluctuates between 4.5 and 8. Normally, urine is slightly acidic, between about 5 and 6.5, so it falls within a normal range. The pH of urine, also known as acidity, is a process that changes dynamically with dietary medications or water intake, and is not static. As long as the patient does not have any uncomfortable symptoms, no treatment is needed. Dietary consumption of acidic substances or an increase in meat-based foods can cause a slight decrease in the pH of the urine. Taking alkaline medications, such as sodium bicarbonate, or eating more vegetables can also lead to a slight increase in pH. These are not accompanied by any symptoms of urinary tract irritation and do not require any treatment. However, when the pH of the urine changes but there are some symptoms of urinary tract irritation, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and take medication for symptomatic treatment as appropriate.
