Dosage of Amoxicillin Tablets

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic of the penicillin class and has good antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus haemolyticus, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, and Helicobacter pylori. It can be used for infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract infections, typhoid fever, gonorrhea, infections of the skin and soft tissues, otitis media, sinusitis, etc. The tablets are given orally to adults at 0.5g once, once every 6 to 8 hours, and the daily dose does not exceed 4g; the daily dose for infants under three months is 30mg per kg of body weight; for children is 20mg to 40mg per kg of body weight, and can be administered once every 8 hours. In case of severe renal impairment, the dose of the drug needs to be adjusted, and different doses can be adjusted according to the creatinine clearance. Observe closely for adverse reactions during dosing, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, anemia, and hepatic impairment. A skin test is required before administration and is contraindicated in positive cases.
