The biological father of a fetus conceived by artificial insemination is based on the source of semen chosen at the time of artificial insemination, either the husband or the sperm donor. Artificial insemination is a technique in which sperm is injected non-coitally into a woman’s reproductive tract to fertilize her. It includes artificial insemination using the husband’s semen and artificial insemination using the sperm donor’s semen. Husband semen insemination technique refers to the use of insemination using the semen of the conceiving husband, and donor semen insemination refers to the use of semen from volunteers in the sperm bank due to infertility of the male partner or having a family genetic disease. Indications for the use of donor insemination include couples in which the male partner suffers from irreversible azoospermia and is unable to provide normal sperm, or in which the male partner or his family has a serious hereditary disease that makes him infertile. Patients and husbands should visit the fertility clinic of their local hospital for a rigorous evaluation to choose the method of artificial insemination.
