Herniated lumbar discs can be treated with closed therapy. Lumbar disc herniation is mainly due to the degenerative disease of lumbar spine, and the treatment is mainly based on conservative treatment. Closed treatment belongs to one kind of conservative treatment, that is, a kind of local anesthesia and a kind of glucocorticoid hormone are mixed and injected into the affected area, so as to achieve the purpose of relieving the pain, and the commonly used medicines are lidocaine and dexamethasone, etc. The closed treatment of lumbar disc herniation is different from the conventional closed treatment. Closure therapy for lumbar disc herniation differs from conventional closure therapy in that conventional closure therapy is usually injected directly into the affected area, whereas closure therapy for lumbar disc herniation is usually injected into the sacral foramen, which is similar to a simple epidural anesthesia, and is not injected directly into the affected soft tissue area. This is because direct injection into the affected area may lead to further exacerbation of localized edema and compression. If the patient’s symptoms are severe, or if the symptoms continue without improvement, he or she should go to the hospital and be treated under a doctor’s supervision.
