The depth of needle entry for the loom point is 0.5 to 0.7 inch diagonally.
The loom point belongs to the foot solar bladder meridian and is located in the spinal region, when the 1st thoracic vertebra is under the spinous process and 1.5 inches away from the posterior median line. It has the efficacy of clearing heat and dispersing wind, strengthening muscles and bones, and can be paired with Fengchi point for treating wind-heat cough and neck pain; with Taichong point for treating stroke; and with Tao Dao point for treating headache.
The needling method of this point is oblique stabbing, and the depth of the needle is 0.5-0.7 inches; moxibustion can also be performed. This point is used for treating cough with cold, fever, headache, strong collar and back pain.
The patient should be in the prone or sitting position when taking the point. If you need acupuncture at this point, you should go to the hospital and receive regular treatment, do not do it on your own.
