PET-CT can find abnormal tissues that cannot be easily examined in other parts of the body. Combined with the characteristic signs of tuberculosis and local biopsy, the diagnosis of tuberculosis can be made clearly. The tracer drug injected before PET-CT, the high metabolic capacity of tuberculosis lesions, can be a large amount of tracer intake, which is manifested as a large amount of tracer concentration in the lesion during imaging. The specific images of tuberculosis in PET-CT are “marginal worm-eaten bone destruction” and “cold abscess”. 1. PET-CT is able to characterize the structure of osteolytic lesions very well: bone tuberculosis often clearly shows marginal worm-eaten bone destruction with peripheral bone hyperplasia and osteosclerosis on CT, which is one of the more characteristic signs. 2. Tuberculosis is usually accompanied by cold abscesses: the sites of cold abscesses vary according to the organs affected, with the cervical region being the more common site of cold abscesses. At the same time, nodular and lumpy hyper-abscesses are manifested. When you suspect that you have tuberculosis or tumor in other parts of the body, you should consult a doctor in time and choose the appropriate treatment under the judgment of a professional physician.
