Earth ginseng is consumed as a decoction. Ginseng is a kind of plant in the genus Artemisia of the family Ginsengaceae. Its leaves eliminate swelling and poison and promote lactation, and its roots tonify the middle Jiao, moisten the lungs and promote the production of fluids. It is mainly used for the treatment of qi deficiency and fatigue, insufficient breast milk of women in childbirth, menstrual disorders, spontaneous sweating, night sweating (clinically, the patient usually exhibits sweating at night, and sweating stops when waking up), polyuria, leucorrhoea, spermatorrhea, vertigo, tuberculosis, haemoptysis and diarrhea, and so on. In addition to decoction, earth ginseng can also be used externally as a poultice. The adverse reactions and contraindications of the drug are not clear.
