The first time you wear a hearing aid, it feels like a normal person suddenly putting on a pair of dentures and feels uncomfortable. It takes 2 to 3 months or even longer to adapt to the process. Usually, you start by turning down the volume of the hearing aid and then gradually increase it, from short to long, depending on the child’s ability to adapt, until the child becomes comfortable with the hearing aid. The training location should be gradually transitioned from quiet indoor to outdoor, from listening to soft music to adapting to various sounds, and never forcing the child to wear them.
