Can platelets go up the day after a stem cell transfusion?

Platelets do not grow on the second day after stem cell transfusion, but usually grow gradually in about 1~2 weeks after transfusion. It is recommended that protection and anti-infection treatment should be done after stem cell transfusion.
Re-infusion of stem cells generally refers to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, which can effectively improve the body’s blood clotting disorders or immune system diseases. After hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, platelets do not grow immediately.
Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation will cause the body’s white blood cells to grow gradually at first, and after 1~2 weeks will cause the body’s platelet count to gradually increase, while 1~3 months can reach a stable platelet count state, thus ensuring the basic blood clotting function.
As the patient’s body is in a relatively weak state during the recovery period of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, it is necessary to do a good job of active protection and anti-infection treatment during this stage, try not to contact with bacteria or viruses that may contain, and do a good job of isolation of infected patients. Meanwhile, during the recovery period, the number of platelets, white blood cells and other blood components should be checked regularly.
After HSCT, it is important to consult with your doctor to find out what the common postoperative recovery status is.
