How to treat a swollen thigh after cervical cancer surgery

Swelling of one thigh after cervical cancer surgery is considered to be related to obstruction of venous return of lower limbs, which can be improved by elevating the lower limbs or wearing elastic stockings.
Swelling of one thigh after cervical cancer surgery is mainly due to obstruction of venous or lymphatic return of lower limbs during pelvic lymph node dissection, resulting in swelling of one thigh. If the swelling is not obvious or is mild, then most patients do not need special treatment.
If the swelling is relatively severe, it is recommended that the patient rest in bed to reduce the gravity of the lower limbs, and use pillows or quilts to elevate the lower limbs to promote venous return and relieve the swelling. For more serious swelling, wearing compression stockings or massage after consulting with doctor may also have certain effect on reducing swelling.
If the swelling of lower limbs of cervical cancer patients is serious after surgery, it is recommended to consult doctor in time, complete relevant examination, clarify the cause of disease under professional doctor’s guidance, and target treatment.
