Can lymph nodes be removed?

Lymph nodes can be resected. In case of swollen lymph nodes on the body surface, lymph node dissection can be performed if the swollen lymph nodes are considered to be caused by tumor metastasis or chronic lymph node inflammation, and the swollen lymph nodes cannot be reduced by oral antibiotic treatment. It can be performed under routine local anesthesia. After complete removal of lymph nodes, pathological examination is required. If the pathology is clear and the cause is considered to be metastasis or primary lymph node tumor, further treatment is needed. At the same time, when tumor occurs in the body, it may also metastasize through lymph nodes and show enlarged lymph nodes in the region. Therefore, when radical tumor treatment is performed, regional lymph nodes will also be removed in parallel, for example, when gastric cancer or intestinal cancer is surgically removed, the first and second lymph nodes will be routinely cleared, and if necessary, the third lymph node will also be cleared.
