How effective is needle knife release of stenosing tenosynovitis?

Early stenosing tenosynovitis can be released by needle knife and partially effective, but for severe stenosing tenosynovitis, surgical incision and release is ideal.
Stenosing tenosynovitis is mainly caused by thickening of the tendon sheath due to repeated friction of the tendon in the tendon sheath, or aseptic inflammation in the stenosis area due to degenerative fibrosis and hyperplasia of the tendon sheath, which in turn produces a series of clinical symptoms, such as pain, swelling, and impaired mobility. Early stenosing tenosynovitis can be treated with small knife release surgery, and some stenosing tenosynovitis patients have satisfactory results after surgery.
However, for severe stenosing tenosynovitis, it is better to perform surgical incision to release the tendon sheath. Although the surgery is more traumatic, it is the most thorough and effective way to release the tendon sheath with significant stenosis.
It is recommended that the patient seek medical attention and follow the doctor’s instructions.
