How to treat lisfranc injury

Lisfranc injuries can be treated as follows: 1. For mild injuries of this type, such as only mild associated ligament injuries and very mild dislocations, conservative treatment can be taken. Conservative treatment requires that the operator first use manual repositioning to properly correct the abnormal relationship of the joint caused by this injury, and then use a cast, brace, or splint to immobilize the area. For very severe injuries, surgical reduction and internal fixation is required. This treatment is done by directly exposing the injury, repositioning the fracture or dislocation, and fixing it with an internal fixation device such as a Clinique pin or plate. In addition, soft tissue injuries such as ligaments or complications of blood vessels and nerves need to be repaired. 3. For some old injuries, joint fusion surgery can be considered.
