There are several findings on biopsy of ileocecal ulcers

Biopsy of ileocecal ulcer usually has different results such as intestinal inflammation, tuberculosis, Crohn’s disease or malignancy, and different results have different biopsy manifestations. 1. Intestinal inflammation: if the biopsy shows neutrophilic infiltration or lymphocytic infiltration, most cases are intestinal inflammation. 2. Intestinal tuberculosis: if the biopsy shows the manifestation of caseous granuloma, it is considered to be the ileocecal valve ulceration caused by intestinal tuberculosis, which is the characteristic of tuberculosis appearing in the intestinal tract. 3. Crohn’s disease: the pathology of Crohn’s disease often shows non-caseating granulomas. If the biopsy result is the manifestation of non-caseating granuloma, it suggests that the possibility of Crohn’s disease is high. 4. Malignant tumor: if the biopsy pathology is malignant, it indicates that this ulcer is triggered by malignant tumors, such as intestinal tumors, lymphomas and other clinically common malignant tumors. Doctors will further conduct CT, MRI and other examinations according to the pathological typing of the biopsy results and the physical condition of the patient, and consider the treatment method comprehensively. The biopsy of ileocecal ulcer is also seen in other pathological types, and it is recommended that patients go to the hospital and choose the appropriate treatment plan under the guidance of the doctor, and do not use medication on their own.
