Platelets are the blood cells responsible for stopping bleeding in the human body. The number of platelets must be maintained within the normal range for the human body to neither suffer from bleeding symptoms nor thrombosis. For patients with reduced platelets, they can properly eat more high-quality protein, fresh beef, milk, eggs, meat, and fresh fish, all of which can promote an increase in the number of platelets. Along with high quality protein, eating more fresh vegetables and fruits, such as fresh spinach, celery and foods like apples and dates, can help increase the platelet count. If a patient’s platelet count is significantly reduced, relying on dietary supplements alone cannot achieve significant results, and often requires platelet transfusion or the application of recombinant human platelet-producing hormone therapy, which can effectively increase the platelet count.
