What to do with a compression fracture of the lumbar bone

Lumbar compression fracture mainly refers to lumbar vertebral compression fracture, the treatment mode is selected according to the degree of compression fracture, such as conservative treatment or surgical treatment.
1. Conservative treatment: For lumbar compression fracture, when the vertebral body height is lost within 1/3, it generally does not affect the stability of lumbar vertebrae and the prognosis, therefore, conservative treatment can be chosen, such as strict bed rest for 4~6 months, or lumbar support under the protection of the rest for 3~4 weeks and then go down to the ground after functional activities.
2. Surgery: For lumbar osteoporosis with lumbar compression fracture, if the vertebral body compression is more than 1/3, surgery can be considered, such as lumbar vertebral cementoplasty; for lumbar vertebral fracture caused by violent injuries of more than 50%, surgical internal fixation treatment is needed.
Patients with lumbar compression fractures are advised to choose the appropriate treatment plan under the guidance of their doctors.
