Brown discharge after cervical screening

Cervical screening mainly includes cervical TCT and HPV examination, which requires soft brushes to remove exfoliated cells from the cervical canal and cervical surface, which may cause bleeding from the cervical mucosa, usually with a small amount of bleeding, making the leukorrhea discharge appear brown after the examination, which will gradually clean up after 2-3 days without treatment and can be observed temporarily. If the bleeding is heavy, reddish in color or persists for 1 week and still cannot be stopped, you can go to the hospital to have your doctor stop the bleeding by vaginal tamponade or medication. If the test results are not abnormal, no other treatment is needed after stopping the bleeding. In addition, cervicitis, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer may also cause contact bleeding, therefore, if the screening result shows abnormalities, active cooperation with treatment is needed. Cervical inflammation can be treated with local application of anti-inflammatory drugs; cervical polyps or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia can be treated conservatively or surgically removed depending on the condition. In case of cervical cancer, surgical treatment, chemotherapy, radiotherapy or targeted drug therapy can be adopted. For bleeding after cervical screening, temporarily do not have intercourse and avoid taking sitz bath or tub bath. Eat spicy and cold food as little as possible, and ensure sufficient rest and sleep.
