The patient has a foreign body obstruction in the airway and is unconscious. The fact that the patient is unconscious and not breathing at this time is a prerequisite for CPR. Therefore, when an airway foreign body obstruction causes a patient to lose consciousness, he should be given CPR immediately. However, we should first find a way to flush out the foreign body from his airway, that is to say, we should use the Heimlich method to release the foreign body from the airway. If there is no way to dislodge the foreign body from the airway, then start chest compressions, followed by artificial respiration, and repeat the operation in the ratio of 30:2 until the foreign body is out. If there is no way to get the foreign body out, do not give up, because during chest compressions, there is always a little hope that there will be a gap in the airway so that a small amount of oxygen can be blown in for the patient’s use.
