What’s wrong with stomach pain and hiccups?

  Stomach pain and hiccups are indigestion symptoms. It should be taken seriously, as many diseases can cause such indigestion symptoms.  The causes of dyspepsia symptoms are classified as organic and functional. Functional dyspepsia refers to the presence of symptoms such as stomach pain and bloating, belching, and early satiety in patients without clear structural and blood abnormalities. These symptoms are aggravated before and after meals and affect life and mood, but the pain level is usually not too severe to wake up in pain during sleep. Many people have poor sleep, depression or anxiety, which interferes with eating and even work. The quality of life is poor and symptoms can recur.  Stomach pain hiccups can likewise occur in organic diseases, such as peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease or even tumor states. The same symptoms can occur in other systemic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus. As for gallbladder diseases, pancreatic diseases and even colon diseases, similar symptoms may occur.  If the stomach pain is accompanied by vomiting, anemia, fever, emaciation, blood in stool, etc., and the pain severely affects sleep and wakes up at night with pain, it suggests a high possibility of organic diseases, and it is recommended to see a doctor as soon as possible to do relevant tests to exclude organic diseases. Especially for people over 40 years old.
