Sclerotherapy is a hypertonic solution, 5% sodium cod liver oil and phenol glycerol, which cause aseptic inflammation of the vascular endothelial cells. The cells are crumpled due to enzyme metabolism disorder and nutrition disorder, and eventually replaced by fibrous connective tissue and fibrous occlusion of veins to achieve the purpose of varicose vein atrophy. The advantages of sclerotherapy are simple operation, less patient pain, no hospitalization, low cost, especially for the treatment of limited varicose veins, and can meet the psychological needs of patients who do not want surgery and consider limb “cosmetic”. The disadvantage is that it can’t block the backflow of the main veins and the traffic veins at a high level, and it has a high recurrence rate, and serious complications such as deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism can occur. Laser treatment Laser energy is transmitted by a single fiber, and different power and modes can be used to achieve significant and highly controllable results.
