Why does a healed fracture of the neck of the femur not grow a scab?

Fractures of the neck of the femur that heal without a bone scab may be a normal healing process of the fracture, or there may be a delay in the healing of the fracture or non-healing.
1. Normal healing process: femoral neck fracture in the healing process itself to form the bone scab is relatively small, the reason why there is little bone scab is due to the characteristics of the neck of the femur itself, the neck of the femur by the synovial membrane and the joint capsule outside the cover, there is no periosteum, and at the same time the neck of the femur itself belongs to the cancellous bone, so in the healing process of the fracture itself scabs are relatively small or do not appear bone scabs.
2. Delayed healing or non-healing of the fracture: If the patient has more than three months or half a year after the fracture of neck of femur, and the X-ray examination after the fracture has not shown the growth of the bone scab, and the X-ray can still see the clear fracture line, we need to highly suspect that the fracture is delayed healing or non-healing because the delayed healing or non-healing of the fracture may also show no sign of the growth of the bone scab.
Patients after femoral neck fracture are recommended to undergo early standardized treatment, and at the same time, they should be actively rechecked after the surgery in order to minimize the adverse effects of the disease.
