Chinese medicine does not dissolve gout, but only improves the symptoms. The specific choice of medicine needs to refer to the patient’s condition. If the gout is caused by damp-heat paralysis, you can take Si Miao San combined with Xuan Pai Tang plus or minus; if the gout is caused by wind-cold-damp paralysis (wind, cold, dampness three kinds of evil qi invade the body and lead to the paralysis of limbs), you can take Wu Tou Tang plus or minus, and so on. 1. Damp-heat paralysis: sudden redness, swelling and hot pain in the small joints of the lower limbs, refusing to be pressed, localized burning when touched, being relieved when cooled, accompanied by fever and thirst, disturbed and uneasy, with a red tongue and yellow fur, and a slippery pulse. You can take the Four Miaosan and Xuanpao Tang plus reduction. 2. Wind-cold-dampness paralysis: pain in the limbs and joints, or wandering pain, or severe pain in the joints, with pain that does not move, or heavy swelling and pain in the limbs and joints, numbness of the skin, aggravated by cloudy and rainy days, with thin white tongue coating and tight or dilated pulse. You can take Wu Tou Tang plus reduction. 3. Phlegm and stasis obstruction: swollen joints, or even swelling around the joints, localized pain and numbness, accompanied by dizziness, swelling of the face and feet, chest and epigastric constriction, with a fat, dark tongue, white moss, and a slow or slippery pulse. You can take Body Pain and Blood Stasis Expulsion Soup plus subtractions. 4. Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney (deficiency of yin fluid in the liver and kidney): prolonged and recurring disease, joint pain like a cane, localized deformation of the joints, daytime and nighttime pain, numbness and insensitivity of the skin, difficulty in walking, constriction of the tendons and veins (spasms and convulsions due to wind-cold sensation), zygomatic redness (reddish cheeks and zygomatic bones), dryness of the mouth, red tongue with little moss, and a fine stringy pulse or a thin count. You can take Dokuto Sangsang Tang with additional reduction.
