There are many causes of bowel sounds, including increased bowel sounds accompanied by diarrhoea, which are commonly associated with acute gastroenteritis, malabsorption syndrome, lactose intolerance and other conditions. The increased bowel sounds with diarrhoea are not a typical symptom of bowel cancer and should not be a cause for concern.
