Intraductal papillary mucinous tumors are usually benign tumors that appear on the ductal epithelium, such as intraductal papillary mucinous tumors of the pancreas. Intraductal papillary mucinous tumor may be induced by environmental pollution, heredity and other reasons, patients need to follow the doctor’s advice as soon as possible for surgery and other treatments, generally a better prognosis. If there is abnormal proliferation of ductal epithelium and vascular connective tissue in the expanded duct wall of the patient’s body, the proliferation is in the form of papillae, which secrete too much mucus, then it is called intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm. Smoking and alcohol abuse, environmental pollution, hereditary factors, and frequent exposure to chemicals are typical causes of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms. If the patient suffers from intraductal papillary mucinous tumor of the pancreas, he/she may suffer from epigastric pain, fatigue and other uncomfortable symptoms, and may be susceptible to chronic pancreatitis due to the obstruction of pancreatic fluid outflow. After diagnosed with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm, patients can be treated with surgical resection to remove the tumor. It is recommended to treat intraductal papillary mucinous tumor as soon as possible after diagnosis without delay.
