What to do about mild hearing loss

If there is mild hearing loss, the first step is to look at the severity of the hearing loss, the duration of the hearing loss, and the cause of the hearing loss for further management. If there is a foreign body in the ear canal or a large piece of cerumen in the ear, which embolizes the ear canal and causes hearing loss, the hearing loss recovers after resolving the problem of the embolism in the ear canal. If there is no abnormality on examination of the ear canal and eardrum, an audiogram is needed to see if the hearing loss is neurologic or conductive. If it is a neurological hearing loss and has been there for a long time, it usually does not need further treatment and observation is sufficient, if there is further hearing loss, it should be treated promptly. If it is a relatively short period of neurological hearing loss, you can consider applying hormones and drugs that nourish the nerves and dilate blood vessels. If it is conductive hearing loss, anti-inflammatory drugs and pro-excretory drugs can be applied to resolve conductive hearing loss.
