Striated hyperdense shadows in the middle lobe of the right lung are not serious if the disease is benign, but more serious if it is malignant. Striated hyperintense shadows in the right middle lobe of the lungs are usually described as a pathologic condition that is detected by X-rays and CTs of both lungs. Striated hyperintense shadows in the middle lobe of the right lung are mainly seen in certain diseases of the lungs, including inflammatory and space-occupying lesions. Commonly, benign lesions, such as infections with viruses, bacteria, fungi, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, parasites, and other pathogens, result in an inflammatory response in the right lung, which manifests as a dense inflammatory lesion in the middle lobe. It is also seen in some non-infectious benign lesions such as idiopathic fibrosis in the middle lobe of the right lung. This is generally not serious. It can also be seen in a few malignant lesions, such as lung cancer, but also in the middle lobe of the right lung in some of the metastases of extrapulmonary malignant tumors, which is more serious. It is recommended that the patient should have a detailed examination, actively search for the cause and carry out standardized treatment.
